About Sogawa Kazuo: Born in Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture in 1948, Sogawa Kazuo began his martial arts journey under Yamashita Yoshie during elementary school. In 1965, he founded the Daito-ryu Shukikai and later succeeded as the second head of Daito-ryu Saigo-ha in 1971, teaching at the Shodokan in Kitakyushu. In September 1990, he established the International Daito-ryu Aikibujutsu Federation, expanding his teachings throughout the Kanto region and beyond.
